How the Legal Case Pre-Check Works

1
Enter your case details

Describe what happened — the amount involved, who the other party is, whether you have documents such as agreements, messages, or receipts, and how long ago the incident occurred.

2
Instant eligibility analysis

The tool checks your inputs against the key legal eligibility criteria: limitation period (time bar), availability of evidence, jurisdiction, and the strength of your legal standing under applicable Indian laws.

3
Get a clear yes/no with guidance

You receive a plain-language assessment of whether your case is likely to succeed, what documents you need to strengthen it, and the recommended next legal step — whether that is a legal notice, consumer complaint, or police complaint.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the limitation period and why does it matter?

The limitation period is the legal deadline by which you must file a case or send a legal notice. For cheque bounce cases it is 30 days from the date the bank returns the cheque. For consumer complaints it is generally 2 years from the date of the deficiency. Missing the limitation period can make your case legally invalid, which is why this check is done first.

Can I still proceed if my case is marked weak?

Yes. A 'weak' result means you may face challenges, not that your case is hopeless. The tool will explain exactly what is missing — for example, a written agreement or an acknowledgment of the debt — and what steps you can take to strengthen your position before sending a notice.

Is this tool a substitute for legal advice?

No. This pre-check is a preliminary screening tool based on general legal principles. It does not constitute legal advice. For complex matters — especially those involving criminal allegations, property disputes above ₹10 lakhs, or multi-party contracts — you should consult a practising advocate directly.

What types of cases does this tool cover?

The tool currently covers the most common civil and quasi-criminal matters in India: cheque bounce (Section 138 NI Act), money recovery, consumer complaints, employment disputes, property and tenant matters, RERA builder complaints, cyber fraud, and harassment. It does not cover criminal matters, matrimonial disputes, or income tax cases.

How long does the pre-check take?

The entire check takes under 2 minutes. You answer 5–7 questions and receive your result immediately — there is no waiting time and no email sign-up required.
