As a legal services provider, we do not offer traditional product returns, but we address client concerns regarding service quality, cancellations, and refunds as detailed below. Our services are governed by engagement agreements or contracts signed with clients, and this policy operates in conjunction with those terms.

2. Service Cancellation by Client

Clients may cancel a legal service engagement or specific deliverable request prior to the commencement of work or delivery, subject to the terms outlined in the engagement agreement. Cancellation Process: To cancel a service, clients must notify us in writing via email at sglawassociates@gmail.com or through a formal letter to our office address. Cancellations must be received at least 48 hours before the scheduled start of work (e.g., consultation, document drafting, or training session) to be eligible for a refund or waiver of fees. Cancellation Fees: If cancellation occurs after work has begun or within 48 hours of the scheduled service, a partial fee may be charged based on the work completed or resources allocated, as per the engagement agreement. For retainer-based legal panel services, cancellation terms will be governed by the specific retainer contract, including notice periods and applicable fees.

3. Service Cancellation by LegalPanel.in

LegalPanel.in reserves the right to cancel or discontinue a service engagement under exceptional circumstances, such as conflicts of interest, non-payment of fees, or inability to provide services due to unforeseen events (e.g., force majeure, regulatory restrictions). In such cases, clients will be notified in writing via email or formal communication, and any advance payments for unrendered services will be refunded in full within 15 business days. We will also provide reasonable assistance in transitioning the matter to another legal provider if requested.

4. Refund Eligibility and Process

Refunds are applicable only in specific scenarios, as legal services are customized and non-tangible. Eligibility: Refunds may be considered if a service has not been initiated or delivered as agreed, or if there is a demonstrable failure on our part to meet the scope of work outlined in the engagement agreement, subject to review. Refund requests will not be entertained for completed services, dissatisfaction due to client-provided incorrect information, or changes in client requirements after service delivery. Refund Request Process: Clients must submit a refund request in writing to sglawassociates@gmail.com within 7 days of the service delivery or cancellation, detailing the reason for the request. Our team will review the request and respond within 10 business days. Refund Amount and Timeline: Approved refunds will be processed within 15 business days via the original payment method or bank transfer, after deducting any applicable taxes, processing fees, or costs for partial work completed as per the engagement terms.

5. Service Quality and Dispute Resolution

Client Satisfaction: If a client is dissatisfied with the quality or delivery of a legal service or deliverable, we encourage immediate communication to address the concern. Clients can reach out to us for resolution or rework at no additional cost if the issue falls within the agreed scope of work. Dispute Resolution: Any disputes regarding service quality or refunds will first be addressed through mutual discussion. If unresolved, disputes will be subject to mediation or arbitration as per the terms of the engagement agreement and in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, with the venue of arbitration being Puducherry, India. We are committed to resolving issues amicably and in compliance with Indian legal standards.

6. Non-Refundable Services and Retainer Fees

Certain services, such as court filings, litigation representation, and POSH training workshops, are non-refundable once initiated due to the commitment of resources, time, and third-party costs. Retainer fees for ongoing legal panel services are non-refundable unless specified otherwise in the retainer agreement. Clients are advised to review engagement terms carefully before confirming services to avoid misunderstandings.
